Main Sections
Spanish Political Economy International Network (SPEIN)
I co-organise SPEIN, which brings together economists and political scientists working on the political economy of Spain. The first SPEIN workshop was held at King's College London on 15–16 June 2026 and focused on the foundations of modern Spain: conflict, authoritarianism, democratic transition and their legacies. The aim is to hold the workshop annually, alternating between Spain and the UK.
Economics and Science Fiction
I am writing The Spice Must Flow: Economics and Science Fiction, forthcoming from Edward Elgar. The book explores economic ideas in science fiction across literature, film and television.
Digital Futures Institute Education Fellowship
In 2026–27 I am an Education Fellow at King's Digital Futures Institute. My project, Economics and Science Fiction: Imagining Futures of Work and Technology, is developing a short modular course using science fiction to examine automation, inequality, scarcity and post-work futures.
